Febles also announced that the first runner-up, Dulcita Lieggi, will succeed Duran and become the official representative of Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2012 to be held later this year.
"We regret that there has been this annoying situation because Carlina was an excellent candidate to participate in Miss Universe," said Magali Febles.
She added that "she hid her married status and the organizers can not be complicit and accepting an illegal act. Consequently, we have no alternative but to withdraw the crown "
"I am coming tomorrow to the country to crown the new Dominican Republic," said Magali Febles.
The new Miss RDU 2012 will be crowned on Wednesday.

These are two points of view for the same problem: the Canadian transgender contestant did not provide accurate information of her born gender as it is requested in the terms and conditions. The same happened to Miss Domnican Republic, she omitted information required in terms and conditions regarding her marital status. Is it fair change the rule for the Canadian contestant and not to do so for the Dominican contestant? Make your own judgements.
