CHIZMAXX: Miss Venezuela 1952 Sofia Silva Inserri passed away!


Sofia Silva Inserri, the first woman to be crowned Miss Venezuela in 1952, passed away last Friday, April 22, in Bogota, Colombia, reports Agencia Carabobeña de Noticias. She was 81.


 Silva, the first Venezuelan to compete in Miss Universe in 1952, was born in 1929 in Palmar, Bolivar state.

With her distinctive style and impressive features, she almost captured the attention of the press during the Miss Universe 1952 held at Long Beach, California. Yet surprisingly Silva was unplaced in the finals, and the crown went to Finnish beauty Armi Kuusela.
