According to some critics, Ms. Raj's hairdo made her final walk a disaster, as she looked like a "poon". "Poon" is a Filipino term for statue revered by some Filipino Catholics. They said the 4th runner-up in Miss Universe 2010 lost her spark because of her curly hair, which does not match with her evening gown color.
Famous Filipino gay comedian Vice Ganda who witnessed the grand coronation night of Binibining Pilipinas 2011 posted on his Twitter: "Paglabas ni Venus Raj ng stage, nagwagayway ng puting panyo ang mga bakla... hahaha!... Hindi na 'major-major' ang isinisigaw niya kundi 'Viva! Viva!' na!" [When Venus Raj entered the stage, the gays waved their white handkerchiefs... hahaha... She looked like shouting 'Viva! Viva!' instead of 'major-major'!] He also added that Venus Raj looks like a "poon" in a fiesta.
Another Filipino Gay comedian Kim Idol sarcastically tweeted, "At bago ako matulog,'wag nating kalimutan magpasalamat sa buhok ni Venus Raj na napupuno ng grasya... Ang dami mong pinatawa!" [Before I go to sleep, I want to thank Venus Raj's hair with full of grace... You made us laugh!]
Meanwhile, Beauty Mania found out that Ms. Raj has curly hair even before joining beauty pageants. Here is one evidence:
Like we have said before, we have no problem about Ms. Raj's hair. It happens that her evening gown color does not suit her curly hair. Still, her beauty is a standout during that night compared to her co-beauty queens Krista Kleiner and Czarina Gatbonton.
