Amy Winehouse |
Singer Amy Winehouse, 27, has been found dead at her London home, July 23rd. According to a statement by the Metropolitan Police, they were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 at around 4 p.m. local time Saturday. As of this writing, the cause of death is still unknown.
Winehouse shot to fame with the album "Back to Black," whose blend of jazz, soul, rock and classic pop became a global hit. It won five Grammys and made Winehouse one of music's remarkable stars. But last month, Winehouse called off all of the remaining dates on her European tour following a disastrous performance in Belgrade, Serbia.
Winehouse married music industry hanger-on Blake Fielder-Civil in 2007 but they divorced in 2009. Since then, Winehouse's health appeared fragile. She was diagnosed of having signs of lung disease emphysema in 2008.
