The two attended the annual Star Magic Ball held at Manila Peninsula with other stars of the Kapamilya Network.
Minutes after the party, Twitter world was on a buzz when entertainment host Ogie Diaz posted this tweet on his micro-blogging account:
"Ay, nakakalokah! Sana naman d totoo yung itineks sa akin na nagsuntukan sina young actors CM at MG sa Salon de Ning sa Manila Pen a wyl ago (sic)."
Diaz later on named the two actors as Matteo and Coco.
Many are speculating that the reason of the said fist fight is Matteo's rumored flame and Coco's "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin" co-star Maja Salvador.

Meanwhile, in an interview made by The Buzz, Maja Salvador admitted that she is the cause of the brawling incident. On the other hand, reports said the fighting scene started after Coco allegedly kissed Maja in the lips. Matteo, whom Maja revealed having a relationship with, apparently strangled and punched Coco because of jealousy.
Several onlookers witnessed the brawl and according to netizens over at social networking sites Twitter and Facebook and online forums, there is a rumor that an unknown individual was able to record the incident on video. No video has surfaced online, even on YouTube.
With regards to fans sympathy, Coco Martin has won it.
