SANTA CRUZ, Bolivia - 19-year-old Evelina van Putten, Miss Curacao, has been crowned as Reina Hispanoamericana 2011 in a pageant held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Van Putten, who stands 1.84 m. tall, was a favorite from the beginning, bagging titles Miss Photogenic, Miss Elegance, and Miss Silhouette. She was crowned by Carolina Medina of Venezuela, last year's titleholder.
Maria Jesus Matthei of Chile and Bolivia's Yessica Mouton were named first and second runners-up respectively. Completing the Top 7 were Venezuela's Angela Ruiz, Spain's Alba Fortes, Olga Alava of Ecuador, and Paraguay's Alba Riquelme.
Evelina van Putten recently represented the tiny island of Curacao at Miss Universe 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
