CARTAGENA, Colombia - 23-year-old Daniella Margarita Alvarez Vazquez has been crowned Señorita Colombia 2012 in a pageant finale held at Cartagena Convention Center in Cartagena Monday evening. Alvarez, who competed as Señorita Atlántico, stands 1.73 m. tall and will represent Colombia at Miss Universe 2012.
Alvarez was crowned by her predecessor, Catalina Robayo.
First runner-up or "Virreina" was Señorita Magdalena, 24-year-old Melissa Varon. Varon is a Chemical Engineer and part-time model who stands 1.80 m. Although the "Virreina" is expected to compete in Miss International, instead Varon might represent Colombia at Miss ContinenteAmericano 2012 due to her over age at Miss International.
Meanwhile, pageant fan favorite Señorita Valle, Melina Ramirez Serna, was named second runner-up. The 21-year-old beauty will represent Colombia at Miss International 2012 and Top Model of the World 2012. She stands 1.80 m. tall.
Señorita Cartagena, Laura Cantillo was named third runner-up. She will go to Miss Intercontinental 2012 to represent her country.
Fourth runner-up was Señorita Cundinamarca, Thael Osorio Redondo. She is expected to represent Colombia at Reina Hispanoamericana 2012.
