MANILA, Philippines (Manila Bulletin) - A beauty from the southern part of the city,
Queenierich Rehman of Las Piñas, was crowned Miss World Philippines on
finals night held at The Tent of the Manila Hotel on June 24.
Rehman won one million pesos in cash and a brand new Hyundai Eon car.
She also bagged the Ms. Pantene award, A-M-Azing or Beauty and Brains
award, and Best in Swimwear award.
Mary Anne Ross Misa was adjudged First Princess and took home P250,000 cash.
Vanessa Claudine Ammann was awarded Second Princess which allowed her
take home P200,000 cash. Ammann was also declared Ms. Olay and Ms.
MyPhone.
The Third Princess honor went to April Rose Jordan, which came with
P150,000 cash prize. Jordan also won the Best in Long Gown, Ms.
Oracare, and Ms. Manila Hotel awards.
Vania Valiry Vispo was given the Smart People’s Choice award.
Brennan Cassandra Gamboa was crowned Fourth Princess and won P100,000 cash.
The pageant opened with the candidates dancing to a festive number
featuring the Aliwan Fiesta Tribal group. The judges were photographer
Raimund Isaac, football player James Younghusband, Sonny Angara, Melinda
Reyes, Robert Barreiro, senator Bong Revilla, Emmanuel Ramon Lorenzana,
Clint Navales, Bobby Cruz, consul Amelia Ablaza, Laguna Governor Jeorge
Ejercito, Att. Joise ‘Joey’ Lina, Becky Garcia, Lorna Tolentino and
Maria Fe Perez Agudo of Hyundai.
Hosting the event were Edu Manzano and Ruffa Gutierrez. The pageant
was graced by Miss World national director Cory Quirino, Miss World
First Princess Gwendoline Ruais and actor Marvin Agustin.
Also in the
Top 12 were Rufaida Babudin, Paulina Eliseeff, Kay Wigand, Carla Jenina
Lizardo, Mariver Ocampo, Vania Valiry Vispo and Marie Loraine de
Guzman.
Rehman will compete in Miss World 2012 to be held in Inner Mongolia, China on Aug. 18.
