Miss USA 2011 pageant was over but fans still believe that the 3rd-runner-up in the said competition was robbed of the title.
Ana Rodriguez, the real Miss USA 2011? |
Ana Rodriguez, a stunning beauty from Texas, ever since was one of the favorites to win the title. She later proved her favoritism by giving excellent presentation during the preliminaries. During the finals, she even won the hearts of the audience with her diva performance. But her downfall happened during the Miss USA 2011 Question and Answer portion.
According to many who witnessed the pageant said that Miss Texas gave the best answer in the question given by judge Mariel Hemingway. Yet the judges seemed to favor the other.
During the Question and Answer portion of Miss USA 2011, they say, Miss California, Alyssa Campanella, and Miss Texas, Ana Rodriguez gave best answers while Miss Alabama, Madeleine Mitchell on the bottom. Many expected, including commentators Kelly Osbourne and Miss USA 2003 Susie Castillo, that the fight for the title will be between California and Texas. But the results came otherwise.
Miss Texas was called 3rd-runner-up, which made everyone shocked and upset. As a result, the audience booed the judges. Then the host, Giuliana Rancic, said "A lot of Texas' fans are in the audience".
Surprisingly, Miss Alabama, who gave the worst answer, placed over Ana as 2nd runner-up. Then Miss Tennessee, Ashley Durham named first runner-up, and finally Miss California, Alyssa Campanella was declared winner.
According to some pageant analysts, Texas' placement really gave way to California to win the title. It was a strategy made the judges who favored Miss California. "Placing Ana Rodriguez as 1st runner-up would be incredible for Miss California to be declared winner," says one of the pageant analyst interviewed by Beauty Mania.
