Twenty-one year-old Abigail Hyndman (photo) was crowned Miss British Virgin Islands 2011 in the finale held at the Multi Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town. She will represent the British Virgin Islands in Miss Universe 2012.
First runner-up was Ciara Christian while named as second runner-up was Shanett Browne.

Meanwhile, crowd favorite Washeema Guishard almost swept the floor with her competition securing seven titles before the winner’s announcement. She is Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic, Best BVI Promo and Tallent segment winner, Best Swimwear winner, Best Evening Wear and was even chosen by the audience in the LIME Miss Popularity Contest which saw text message voting from the crowd.

Prize winnings for the three include $10,000, $4,000 and $2,000 respectively for the Queen and First and Second Runners Up, along with other incentives. Other participants received $500 cash prizes and other incentives.
