PAGEANT UPDATES: Ecuadorian beauty wins Miss Continente Americano 2011!


GUAYAQUIL, Ecuador - 21-year-old Claudia Schiess (center) has been crowned as Miss Continente Americano 2011 at Centro de Convenciones Simon Bolivar at her home country Saturday evening. The 1.72 m. tall blonde from Galapagos previously represented her country at both Miss Supranational 2010 and Miss Universe 2011.

Schiess was crowned by her predecessor, Giuliana Cevallos of Peru.

First runner-up was Dalia Fernandez of Dominican Republic. She has also represented her country at Miss Universe 2011. Mexico’s Cecilia Montaño was named second runner-up. Completing the top 5 are delegates from Brazil, Colombia, and Panama.
