Vienna hunk Joachim Trauner (photo center) was named Gay Model of the Year Austria 2012 on May 27. He will represent Austria in Mister Gay Europe 2012 and Mister Gay World 2013.

PAGEANT UPDATES: Miss Moldova 2012 selected!

Twenty year-old Ana Diaconu is Miss Moldova 2012. She was crowned at a ceremony held at the Leogrand Convention Centre in Chisinau on the 28th April 2012.

The 1.80 m. beauty from Chisinau will represent Moldova at the Miss World 2012 contest in Ordos, Inner Mongolia.

PAGEANT UPDATES: Miss Turkey 2012 is Açelya Samyeli Danoğlu!

ISTANBUL - 18-year-old Açelya Samyeli Danoğlu (photos) has been crowned Miss Turkey 2012. The crowd favorite, who stands 1.83 m. tall, will represent Turkey at Miss World 2012 to be held in China on August 18.

Meanwhile, Çagil Özge Özkul, who stands 1.80 m. tall, will represent Turkey at Miss Universe 2012 pageant in December.

İlknur Melis Durası will represent Turkey at Miss Earth 2012 in Indonesia.

PAGEANT UPDATES: Mister Model Nicaragua 2012 is Marlon Sequeira!

MANAGUA - Mister Model Nicaragua 2012 grand final was held at Hotel Seminole in Managua on May 11. The winner is Marlon Sequeira, 18, (photo center) who will represent Nicaragua at Mister Universe Model 2012 to be held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic date yet to be announced.

Alex Miranda and Fernando Cañas named first and second runners-up respectively. One of the runners-up will represent Nicaragua at Mister Earth 2012 competition to be held in Guatemala this October.

Completing the top six were Hauny Mendieta, Fernando, Herlan Cisneros, and Gian Carlo Guzmán.

PAGEANT UPDATES: Mister Earth Brazil 2012 is Marco Thúlio Bernardes!

Twenty-three year-old Marco Thúlio Bernardes has been crowned Mister Earth Brazil 2012. The hunk from Portalegre, who previously held the title Mister Agropecuaria Brasil 2011, will represent Brazil at Mister Earth 2012 pageant to be held in Guatemala this October.

KARACHI, Pakistan - A Peshawar hunk was named Manhunt Pakistan 2012.

Qasim Khan, 25, emerged as the winner of Manhunt Pakistan 2012 contest. Khan, who is a professional model, will represent Pakistan at Manhunt International 2012 contest to be held in Thailand on November 11. He stands 1.88 m. tall.

First runner-up was Sami Butt, 21, from Gujranwala. He will represent his country at Best Model of the World 2012 in Turkey.

PAGEANT UPDATES: Quezon City's Stephany Stefanowitz crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2012

MANILA (Sun Star) -  A 22-year-old designer, freelance model, host and singer from Quezon City was crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2012 at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasig City on Sunday.

Stephany Stefanowitz bested 46 other candidates who represented municipalities, cities and provinces in the country, as well as Filipino communities outside the Philippines.

A second-timer at the prestigious pageant, Stefanowitz will represent the country in the Miss Earth 2012 pageant, which will be held in Indonesia in October. She will also serve as ambassador to environmental protection campaigns in the country.

Stefanowitz was crowned Sunday by last year’s winner, Athena Mae Imperial. She also got the Best in Evening Gown award. 

Crowned as Miss Philippines Water, meanwhile, was Samantha Purvor, 24, a Sports Sciences student from the University of the Philippines who represented San Juan City.

Purvor also won the Best in Swimsuit award, as well as Miss Zenea Slimming and Body Sculpting, Miss Extraderm, Miss Pontefino Residences, and Miss Gandang Ricky Reyes. 

The Miss Philippines Air title went to Glennifer Perido, a 22-year-old nursing graduate from Tabuk City. She was also named Miss Redfox, Best in Resort Wear, and Miss Golden Sunset. 

Miss Philippines Fire was Thoreen Halvorsen, 19, tourism student from Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. She also won the Miss Prime Med special award. 

Named Miss Philippines Eco Tourism was 24 years old Mary Candice Ramos, a fourth year Bachelor of Science Tourism Management student of the University of the Philippines. She represented Vigan City.

Runners up were Glenna Christina Duch, 18, Business Management student from Silliman University in Negros Oriental; Roxanne Corluy, 20, of Belgium-Filipino Community; Princess Lieza Manzon, 25, model and actress from San Francisco, Cebu; Jaydielou Dilidili, 24, admin and human resource manager from Indang, Cavite; and Kathleen Subijano, 24, a lifestyle columnist from Muntinlupa City.

The other candidates who received special awards were: Miss Pagadian City Cristelt Gerona (Miss Photogenic-Ever Bilena); Miss Marilao, Bulacan Aufelyn Zabalanoypistuff (Miss Talent); Miss Lucena City Jennifer Edytha Japor (Miss Friendship); Miss Marilao, Bulacan Aufelyn Zabala (Miss Beverly Hills 6750); Miss Kawit, Cavite Reveleen Carandang (Miss New Placenta); and Miss Batangas City Queenie Uy (Miss Pontefino Hotel).

The coronation night Sunday was hosted by Marc Nelson, Rovilson Fernandez and Ginger Conejero.

PAGEANT UPDATES: Mister Angola 2012 is Samuel Mapinda!

LUANDA, Angola - 23-year-old Samuel Mapinda (photo left) was elected Mister Angola 2012 during the pageant finale held on May 26.

Mapinda, who stands 1.81m. tall, will represent Angola in the next edition of Mister World. He is a student taking up Bank Management and speaks Portuguese and English.

Meanwhile, Mister Popularity award went to Armando Pombal.

ENTERTAINMENT PARADISE: Swedish singer Loreen wins Eurovision Song Contest 2012!

BAKU, Azerbaijan - Swedish singer Loreen emerged as the grand winner of 2012 Eurovision Song Contest held at the Baky Crystal Hall in Baku Saturday evening, May 26.

Garnering 372 points, Loreen's entry "Euphoria" defeated Russia and Serbia, whose entries placed second and third respectively.

The group of grandmothers, Buranovskiye Babushki, with their song "Party for Everybody" garnered 259 points while Serbia's entry, "Nije ljubav stvar (Love is not an Object)" by Željko Joksimović earned 214 points.

Host country Azerbaijan placed fourth overall with their entry "When the Music Dies" interpreted by Sabina Babayeva, earning 150 points.

Meanwhile, the the recipient Marcel Bezençon Awardsare as follows: Azerbaijan (Press Award), and Sweden (Artistic Award and Composer Award).

On the other hand, Stockholm will host Eurovision Song Contest in 2013.

NAIROBI, Kenya - Shamim Nabil (photo) was crowned Miss World Kenya 2012 at the Kenyatta International Conference Center in Nairobi on May 26. She will go to China this August to represent Kenya in Miss World 2012. 

Emma Zanelle and Rachel Mahinda placed second and third respectively.

PAGEANT UPDATES: Miss Seychelles 2012 is Sherlyn Ferneau!

VICTORIA, Seychelles - 21-year-old Sherlyn Ferneau (photo) has been crowned Miss Seychelles Another World 2012 (or better known as Miss Seychelles 2012) in a pageant held on May 26. She was crowned by Seychelles' First Lady Nathalie Michel.

Ferneau will represent Seychelles at Miss World 2012 pageant to be held in China this August.

First Princess was Shanice Hoareau while Natasha Robinson named second princess.

Dominican native Jose Luis Polanco (photo above) has been appointed as Mister Universe Model Saona Island 2012. He will represent Saona Island at Mister Universe Model 2012 to be held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic date yet to be announced.

Polanco recently competed at Mister Tourism International 2012 where  he ended as a finalist.

Mister Universe Model Brazil 2012 is Marcus Raphael Duarte. The former Mister Fernando de Noronha and semi-finalist in Mister Brasil 2011 has been selected to represent Brazil at Mister Universe Model 2012 to be held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic date yet to be announced.

He is 26-years-old and stands 1.90 m.tall.

ENTERTAINMENT PARADISE: Phillip Phillips to undergo surgery after American Idol, talks about his health issues!

The newly elected American Idol season 11 winner Phillip Phillips will undergo a surgery concerning his kidneys - and its not a shocking news already.

According to the news, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter was advised to undergo surgery last March after experiencing severe abdominal pain. He will return to Georgia one of these weeks after completing his first publicity duties as the new American Idol.

According also to E!, Phillips may miss one or two dates at the start of the American Idol tour this summer, depending on the sate of his recovery.

Meanwhile, Phillips talks about his current health state at his guesting at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last March 25.

"I suffered continuously throughout the season with kidney stones and decided to delay surgery in order to finish the competition, but I expect to go under the knife pretty soon,” Phillips said. The pain, he explained, has “been tough,” and it was even a little difficult for him on the talk show.

“But you know, you gotta go after your dream if you want it bad enough,” the American Idol champion declared. “I had a lot of great doctors and a lot of great people around me to help push me through and to help get me through.”

On the other hand, he also said that he was shocked about his victory. “Honestly, I couldn’t believe it,” he told Jay. “My mind was just going everywhere, I didn’t know what to think. I didn’t even want to sing the song or anything I was just so shocked.”

When host Ryan Seacrest delivered his guitar so that he could play his coronation single, “Home,” Phillip said, "I was confused at time, to the extent that I forgot to play the instrument."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, however, Phillips said that before the grand finals, he was ill and the pain inside him prevented him to perform as much. “I didn’t even want to sing, honestly,” he said, smiling. “I started thinking about how long the journey was, how far all of us had come — me and Jessica, Hollie [Cavanagh] and Josh [Ledet] and everybody. It’s insane, man. It’s not as easy as you think.”

He also hope that his surgery will be successful.

QUEZON CITY, Philippines - Jorelle Dela Cruz of Pangasinan (center) has been elected as 23rd Ginoong Filipinas in the pageant finals on May 24 held in Metro Bar in Quezon City. Winner does not compete internationally.

Ginoong Filipinas is the longest run male pageant in the world, established in 1990.

GLASGOW, Scotland - Nicole Treacy, a 23-year-old psychology student was crowned Miss Scotland 2012 during the glitzy pageant finale held at the Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall, defeating nine other contestants.

The beauty from Paisley is 1.74 m. tall. She will represent Scotland in Miss World 2012 to be held in China on August 18.

Favorite Pamela Beattie, 23, of Cambuslang, came third, while Megan McLean, 19, from Airdrie, was the runner-up.

The winner now takes home a bumper £10,000, a beach photo shoot in Majorca courtesy of Jet 2, a Fossil handbag, a £250 clothing voucher from Quiz, and a year’s free hair care from celebrity crimper Taylor Ferguson.

Angelyka Ogryzek, Miss Polski 2011 who previously compete at the Miss World 2011 pageant in London,  was appointed to represent Poland at the Miss Supranational 2012 to be held in Torun, Poland. She will try a back-to-back victory for Poland after Monika Lewczuk won last year.

PAGEANT UPDATES: Miss Senegal 2012 is Penda Ly! Senegal to debut at Miss Universe!

DAKAR, Senegal - 21-year-old Penda Ly has been elected and crowned as Miss Senegal 2012 during the pageant finale held at the King Pahd Palace in the country's capital. 

The 1.75 m. tall beauty from Dakar is a student of marketing. Aside from the crown and the title, she earned the right to represent Senegal at the Miss ECOWAS competition and at the Miss Universe 2012 in December. 

First runner-up was 19-year-old Marieme Thiam while Ndeye Marie Diaw named second runner-up. 

Meanwhile, Miss Universe Leila Lopes will visit Senegal as part of a 5-country African tour to take place in June.

ENTERTAINMENT PARADISE: American Idol Season 11 Winner is Phillip Phillips!

LOS ANGELES - The White Guy with the White Guitar finally wins!

American Idol season 11 grand finale was held at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on May 23. A record-breaking 132 Million votes has been cast around the world.

The winner for this season is Phillip Phillips. The 21-year-old from Leesburg, Georgia defeated Jessica Sanchez, a Filipino-Mexican-American and another top contender for the title. His victory marked the long list of male American Idol winners.

Prior to the announcement of winners, Phillips performed songs "Stand By Me", "Movin Out" and his original song entitled "Home". Phillips succeeded Scotty McCreery as the winner of American Idol. He also performed dueted with with John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival for "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" and "Bad Moon Rising". 

Meanwhile, fans of Jessica Sanchez were frustrated with the results, although the16-year-old singer from San Diego warmly congratulated the winner.

Sanchez ended as second placer, and performed hits Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing", "The Prayer" by Celine Dion, and her own single "Change Nothing". She also performed a duet with Jennifer Holliday for a breath-taking rendition of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going".

On the other hand, according to some sources, Phillips will undergo a kidney surgery in his hometown after the season finale.

Misters of Puerto Rico Organization has been designated representatives to Mister Earth 2012 and Mister Young Earth 2012 pageant to be held in Guatemala from October 1 to 8.

Javier Diaz, Mister Latin Model Puerto Rico 2012, has been selected to represent Puerto Rico at Mister Earth 2012. He will try to capture the three-peat victory for Puerto Rico. Previous Puerto Rican Mister Earth winners were Alexis Martinez (2010) and Amaury Doble (2011).

Magryino was a former Mister Brasil 2011 candidate.
